Let’s take a look at what are the home decor trends that are absolutely OUT in 2018! This year is all about bold, patterns, and bursts of colour all around! Get to know why these home decorating ideas are out and how you can change your home interior design with simple tips!
Come along and find out!
HOME DESIGN WITH: 2018 Decor Trends You Need To Have Right Now!
For some time, having random architectural elements spread in your home was the one you should follow, but here’s why it’s not in vogue right now: they should be applied in the right setting. While barn door looks lovely in a rustic home, in modern home decor they are OUT.
Here’s why white kitchens are out: they have no life whatsoever. A kitchen design should be all about colours, imagination and inspiration. When we think about our dreamy kitchen we think of it as space we can have fun in. Try swapping all the white for hues of blue or even lavender!
On board with the kitchen design, this is why plain and stainless sinks are out: they bring no colour or addition to your home decor ideas. The rule of this home trend 2018 is stone colours or a copper sink style!
Get your living room layout alive and well with tone on tone trend! Accent walls are sooo last year. Even though the 80’s and 70’s are still a thing you should choose carefully what to incorporate into your home.
Why the lettering on walls is a big no-no this 2018: they create too much of a focal point to get your decor on the right path. Get pillows and wall art and voilá! You have the best living room design ever.

Now it’s easier than ever to get some colorful home design ideas.
100% Design Show can’t stop surprising us. In recognition of the move and to celebrate the natural light of Olympia, the show embraces one of the design’s most important factors – colour. Working in partnership with leading trend and branding agency WGSN, the show’s theme for 2015 is Design in Colour.
Used as a means to search for products on the website, navigate your way around the show and as a theme for the talks and parties held across the 4-day event in September, colour trends will thread throughout 100% Design 2015.
The campaign itself recognises the colour spectrum and its use across the design world. WGSN has picked 12 of their predicted top colour trends for 2016, and in turn, we have used these colours to inspire the 100% Design creative process. Visitors can find products in Teal Green or Retro Pink – just 2 of the on-trend colours- and search the show floor for them in person.
