We bring you a special collection to your kitchen ideas: ceramic tea set in the shape of flamingos! That’s right, it’s true. Roxanne Flick has created a porcelain tea set that resembles the long necks and bodies of flamingoes. And it includes rotund sugar dispensers with neck-like spouts, tea cups that balance inside oak holders, and a large, jug-like teapot. Let’s take a look at Purpur!
“The work is oriented on the cycle of the lesser flamingos, their visual appearance, the functions of their body, the choice of their nest site, and their behaviour – which is adapted in the design in an abstract way,” explains Flick, a student at Pforzheim University‘s School of Design in Germany.
“I was also inspired by how flamingos filter their food out of the water, and so I drew parallels to how humans filter tea,” she added. “That’s basically how I came up with the idea to create a tea set.
Every piece is made of slip-cast porcelain and coloured with pigments in soft grey and pink tones inspired by the colours of flamingos!

We just found the most amazing apartment in Russia for you to be inspired for your home design ideas. I think I know what you’re thinking: maybe a totaly cold design, using white and lots of wood, and that’s all. NOT. This interior design project we just found uses amazing colorful details that allows the apartment to be a totaly warm place.
My favorite corner of this russian interior design projects developed by the interior design Studio Space4life is the living room (or should I say ‘the bedroom’?) It mixes all the scandinavian details (white, wood) and design lines, adding a pop of color. You got to love it!
42 square meters
Don’t be fooled by the measure. OK, it is a small apartment in fact, although, its fresh interior design and a lot of another elements help it look very spacious and airy.
The designers were very bright here: they abandoned some of the obvious conventional choice in order to take advantage of the space. Instead of having a bed and sofa, for instance, they opted for two platforms.
One of this beds/sofas has 3 more functions, in fact: it is an extension of the window sill, a workstation and a dresser.
So, this living room aka bedroom aka workstation it’s like a dream that came true. Another element we love and that helps maximize the space here is the TV which drops from the ceiling.
«(…) the designers focused on maximizing storage space without making it feel cluttered. That was done through a variety of strategies, including the deep drawers under the bed, the dresser drawers in front of the window as well as a few wall-mounted shelves.»
This room is quite spacious. It also integrates a dining space. Impossible not to fall in love with the geometric patterns in the tiles and with the chalkboard wall.
White and gray cabinetry and black and white floor are always a great option.
The designers to created a full bath, with a tub, a wide sink, a vanity, a washing machine and a very fresh and modern design. The main color scheme is a combination of white and dark gray (scnadinavian style) but there’s also a colorful tile mosaic on the bathtub wall as well as a purple shower curtain.
Is just me or this is one of the best home design ideas ever? A simple but very organized apartment in Russia. Lovely! Leave us some feedback, please!
If you are looking for some home design ideas for a modern apartment with mid century details, we have a project that might be very helpful. Located on the 18th floor of an apartment building in Moscow, this contemporary home you’ll see was envisioned by architect Alexandra Fyodorova.
What Fyodorova did here, was amazing! For this project, Alexandra Fyodorova re-planned the layout of a 140 square-meter apartment, maximizing efficiency. Consisting of a kitchen-living room, office, nursery, guest bathroom, dressing room and a separate common unit with a master bedroom, the place is perfect for accommodating a growing family.
In the open-air living room, a simple color palette in white, black and gray was employed, “disrupted” only by the yellow chairs and blue sofa cushions. A modern chandelier above the dining table diversifies the geometry of the interior, with its dynamic appearance. The gray sofa complements an almost hypnotizing background of asymmetric line patterns. We like the bright apple-green home office and the way it looks against the wooden unit, as well as the portable lighting element with its decorative appeal. Have a look at the photos and tell us if you discover any other interesting details!

This project by Bureau A, the association between the two architects, is colorful and inspired in the Hollywood golden era. See more at DesignBoom.com.

Art Noveau is an international style of art and architecture, most popular during 1890–1910.This style is inspired by natural forms and structures like flowers and plants, and also curved lines.
Green, brown yellow and orange are the main colors you should use if you want to get a art noveau decor in your home or interior project. It’s easy to get a art noveau living room or bedroom, but if I told you you can get a lovely and inspiring kitchen, too?
You must confess that you’re an enigmatic person but that you adore elegancy and adventure at the same time. Who’s more enigmatic, elegant, but adventurous person you know? That’s right, the 007 double agent James Bond.
The subject today is traditional american decorations, more precisely, lighting and kitchens. I can explain: I have been searching for some great (because good is not enough) classic american lamps for you to be inspired for your 2015 TIPSdecor renovation. Do you want to find some classic american lamps for your kitchen? You will.
Americans can be very traditional and classic when it comes to decorating.
They do it using classic furniture pieces, symmetrical arrangements, rich color schemes and, most of the times, using antique and vintage chandeliers. But exist some classic – but at the same time – modern lighting that you can use at this kind of traditional interiors and I will prove you that.
Tom Dixon has this beautiful cooper shade, a modern classic. This chic and elegant chandelier can be hanged up right beside your dining table, in a kitchen or dining area.
By DelightFULL, Brubeck Suspension, an art deco and music inspired suspension chandelier that could be round, oval, square or rectangular to perfectly suit your tastes and necessities, and Cosmo Suspension, a dynamic piece full of energy and versatility inspired in the Space. Both perfect for classic kitchen because this two pieces, with a vintage touch, are undoubtly modern.
Those are our designer lighting suggestion. But there are others. Look very carefully:
