Pittsburgh-born, New York-based designer Kelly Behun was the one responsible for this authentic masterpiece. “The palette is very much about not feeling like you’re trying to upstage the view” states Behun on the decor’s hues and we couldn’t agree more – the tremendous dimensions of the penthouse’s windows make them true living paintings and that’s a rare element in house decor.
“One of the focal points in the main room is this wall” Kelly Behun continuous. “We did this plaster wall with Yolande Batteau from Callidus Guild. She created the subtle pattern based on a sketch I did that was an Art Deco motif.”. When it comes to floor choices, Behun had no doubts: “There was a couple colour choices for the floor, so we naturally chose the deepest one, because I felt like you needed to literally, underfoot, feel grounded.”

The living and dining room stays true to the colour shades chosen by Behun, but this time she felt a pop of colour was need and solution was not difficult to find: “I love the deep plums in this work by Juan Uslé, and the sooty charcoals going into these deep aubergines”.
