Eleanora Fagan, born on April 7, 1915 (and died on July 17, 1959), better known as Billie Holiday, was an American jazz singer with a career spanning nearly thirty years.
Nicknamed “Lady Day” by her friend and music partner Lester Young, Holiday had a seminal influence on jazz music and pop singing. Her vocal style, strongly inspired by jazz instrumentalists, pioneered a new way of manipulating phrasing and tempo.
She was known for her vocal delivery and improvisational skills, which made up for her limited range and lack of formal music education.

Its body and shade are handmade in brass and aluminum. The black table lamp also features a gold-plated finish and a black textile wire, which can all be customized to fit your decor needs. The perfect study table lamp, this is definitely the lighting fixture you will want in your modern home office.
Jake Hanna, born on April 4, 1931 (and died on February 12, 2010) was an American jazz drummer. Hanna first performed in his home town of Boston. He was the house drummer at Storyville for a number of years in the 1950s and 1960s.
He did extensive work as a studio musician both in and out of jazz, including a period as the drummer for the big band of the Merv Griffin Show (1964–75). He recorded several albums with Carl Fontana for Concord Jazz in the mid-1970s and also played in Supersax. Later in his career, he did much work as a sideman for Concord. Hanna died on February 12, 2010, in Los Angeles, California of complications from a blood disease.
One Of Hanna’s Inspired Pieces
Hanna is a vintage floor lamp that will suit perfectly in your mid-century modern living room or vintage retro design hallway. With a structure made of polished marble estremoz and with multiple lampshades made of brass and aluminum, this floor light is a pure mid-century modern lamp full of grace and charm.
Its flexible lamp shades allow you to spread the light anywhere you want it to be. Bathed in gold plated and matte white finishes, Hanna showcases high-quality craftsmanship, since it was applied an ancient technique called hand metal spinning. On the whole, this brass floor lamp reports to a classical ambiance, back to art deco, evoking a powerful mid-century modern design.
