The first time this event happened, they had 25 exhibitors set out in two rooms with just tables, chairs, sign and rails. This style and concept have been so successful that it has been continued until today with over 470 exhibitors.

Her mentor, Andre Branzi says she was an inspiration. “I chose Federica Biasi for her quintessential design and poetic ideas, which deliver subtly, yet very particular messages”. Federica Biasi graduated from the Istituto Europeo di Design in 2011, and since then, she has worked for several design firms in Milan. She moved to Amsterdam in pursuit of sharpening her style as well as completing her projects, which are mainly inspired by the simple lines of Northern European design.
The mentor, Giulio Cappellini picked Antonio Facco as his Rising Talent because “Despite his young age, Antonio Facco is very attentive to changes in contemporary design and to communication. His projects are largely inspired by his observations of the younger generations, of their expectations and their behaviours.” Facco has designed products for Cappellini and has collaborated with other major international architects and designers.
In this interior trade show, Marco Lavit Nicora will be presenting his Venezia collection, the Reconvexo table, and Atem, a modular sofa, all produced exclusively by Milan-based Nilufar Gallery, as well as another project still in development: a chest of drawers incorporating a table and stool. The mentor, the fashion designer Rosita Missoni, choose the designer because “Marco Lavit Nicora is a young talent, heir to a long line of Italian designers who have placed function at the core of their practice and who have learned to use only the best materials and artisans our country has to offer to achieve that vision. I was especially moved by how light his pieces look, despite the fact that they are deeply anchored in classical design.”
Having worked with his mentor for eight years, Kensaku Oshiro has already is own studio. The mentor, Piero Lissoni, says that the work by the designer is the bridge between cultures. In the words of Piero Lissoni “the gap between the Japanese and Western perspectives on simplicity/complexity.”
In Maison et Objet Paris, Federico Peri is going to be showcasing limited-edition products, as well as series- produced pieces. Chosen by Luca Nichetto who says “I’ve noticed in his work a natural inclination to design products as a way to create an experience through materials or the environment produced by the objects themselves,”., the mentor comments that the inspiration behind the pieces of Peri was one of the factors that let the mentor choose Federico Peri.
Chosen by the icon of contemporary design Rossana Orlandi, the mentor comments about the Rising Talent “ Like many other designers who graduated from this school, his work is strongly influenced by an experimental approach,”. In this edition of Maison et Objet 2018, the Italian designer will bring his unique language with elements of his Equilibrium series.
