FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF
Located in Highland, Illinois “The Ben Rose House” was designed by James Speyer and David Haid in 1953. It’s almost impossible to believe this movie home was put on the market for $2.3 million but remained unsold for 2 years. It’s since been undergoing renovations and should be available again soon.
Its interior is also something Ferris Fans would like to live in. Natural lighting sure makes its shine in this living room, making the warm tones stand out from the neutrals. Only one thing is missing, a great mid-century lighting design!
HOME ALONE
Let’s start by saying the only thing that isn’t funny in this movie is the great architecture and design of McCallister‘s home. This beautiful home is located in Winnetka, Illinois and was sold for $1.58m in 2012.
Sadly much of the home decor has changed (the festive red has been replaced by white), but we’d still move there in a heartbeat.
THE BIG LEBOWSKI
Built between 1961 and 1963 by architect John Lautner, the incredible Sheats Goldstein Residence has been featured in famous movies such as Charlie’s Angels and of, course, The Big Lebowski.
Such an opulent creation made it the perfect setting for Lebowski pornographer Jackie Treehorn and thus, its place in cinematic history was secured. This impressive building has 5 bedrooms, 5 baths and a coffered ceiling living room that boasts 720 skylights.
