The inspiration behind this Home Tour is Abi, a writter, photographer, blogger, travel and interior design addict who set up the blog “These Four Walls“.
From Bristol to the world, Abi shares the spaces she loves, the places she visits, the things that catch her eyes, always with a focus on Scandinavian design.
Located in a converted school in Hackney, this two-bedroom loft apartment was renovated by the interior designer Laura Lakin.
This minimalist style exudes calming colours and simple, relaxed living.
I would love to know what are your thoughts about these giant lamps, which contrasts beautifully with this wooden table surrounded by these metallic chairs!
Here the design goal was all about a contemporary, open-plan space which preserves the flat’s industrial character.
A vintage piece of art, functional and well structured, Diana by DelightFULL is ideal for side tables and office playful desks. The coloured diffuser gives it a charismatic look. For kids and adults. This vintage light’s structure is handmade in brass and the lampshade in aluminium with the switch on the top. An industrial design icon.
Laura has decided to use clean lines and a monochrome colour palette in order to create a relaxing atmosphere, ideal for socialising or even to work.
This setting is ideal to enjoy the sunlight with these internal steel windows to let light flow between rooms.
“Laura designed much of the flat around favourite artworks, including the master bedroom, where a white four-poster frames a striking print by Estonian fine-art photographer Kylli Sparre” – said Abi.
“The minimal lines in this room are jazzed up with subtly patterned blinds and a beautiful Scandinavian-style rug (you can find a similar one at Rockett St George), and there’s also an ensuite shower room decked out in grey marble and black fixtures.” – said Abi.

One of the most impressive rooms of this apartment is the bathroom. The black details fit perfectly in this Scandinavian scenario.
