The New York-based interior designer has been making waves in the design field, and today we’ll explore some of his jaw-dropping works.Considered one of the most prolific designers of his generation, Karim Rashid has a unique futuristic design style signature that can be recognized immediately. “Over 4000 designs in production, over 300 awards and working in over 40 countries attest to Karim’s legend of design.”
With the goal of bringing design to the entire world, Karim Rashid is based in one of the most cosmopolitan cities, New York. His portfolio is filled with incredible commercial design projects that we’ll be exploring today.
The secret to all of his projects is on the incredible lighting and furniture selection that, just like his designs, must be one of a kind. The main reason why the right lighting design and furniture combo is essential to Karim Rashid‘s unique design projects is that he also loves to create original products to enhance his creations.
Although many designers take great pleasure in drawing on the past, it is the designers that reach into the future that are creating the next generation of style. Futuristic interior design relies heavily on the home architecture. Rounded doorways, walls, asymmetric angles should be planned before the construction.

Karim Rashid makes sure the design color scheme suits the style of the future decor. Neutral colors can often be seen in futuristic designs. Although it doesn’t mean Karim entirely gave up the color.
Bright accents such as furniture items, artworks, and feature walls can be seen to bring in the color to the decor. When in comes about shapes, curved and asymmetric shapes and lines can be often seen in his futuristic furniture items.
