At the weekend retreat of brothers Antonio and Ignacio Saorin Lopez de Ayala, on the Spanish island of Ibiza, a guest bedroom—nicknamed “the Captain’s Room”—is carved out of the rocky bluff on which the main house sits, and opens onto a private terrace. A canopy of Indian mosquito netting hangs over the bed; the wood floor is painted white.

Martina Arfwidson of FACE Stockholm and her husband, David Weiss, chose a Swedish palette for the guest room of their Georgian Revival house in New York’s Hudson Valley. The bed is covered with Hedström & Judd linens, and a side chair comes from Arfwidson’s childhood home in Stockholm.
