When Camila Alves McConaughey launched her business, an online platform called Women of Today, five years ago, she could only dream that it would blossom into the community it is now.
As the company grew, the need for space did, too, so Alves McConaughey recently enlisted RH Interior Design to help her conceptualize a new, modern, global-inspired office. The personalized workspace reflects her worldly aesthetic and mission of empowerment and inclusion.

I would travel all over the world, and the one thing I noticed is that anytime I was in different countries, the community between women and the conversation was more open. It was all about learning from each other instead of a closed state of mind. When I would come back to the United States, it always felt very close. So, I decided to start the family office community where we have bigger conversations.

Influenced by a range of periods and places, space features select collections from RH Interiors and RH Modern, defined by rich texture, earthen hues, and natural materials layered with clean, contemporary forms. Here, the entrepreneur opens up to Architectural Digest about the design process and how she evoked a warm and relaxed, lounge-like atmosphere.

I love textures, and I have to incorporate little bits of the world, so it has that around-the-world feel. And I wanted it to be inspiring. Even though it is my office, I have a lot of the meetings with our staff in there, and it needed to be comfortable and inspiring for them, too. And I wanted to use more natural and wood materials to calm everything down and give it a nice warm, cozy feel.
